In the Spotlight

Currently, a significant number of our citizens have been confronted with the loss of loved ones. Therefore, the topic of grief therapy is extremely timely now.

New knowledge in the field of grief and loss, effective tools, and understanding how to provide assistance at each stage of bereavement are more relevant than ever for every practicing psychologist in Ukraine.

Grief and the need for support in times of loss cannot be postponed until “after the Victory.” Discussing grief therapy, developing skills in this area, and providing assistance are necessary right now.

Who is this Forum For?

Today, with confidence, it can be said that in these extremely challenging times for Ukraine, there is hardly a psychologist in our country who does not encounter the topics of grief and bereavement in their own practice.

Every day, individuals turn to each of the professionals, seeking guidance on how to navigate loss, how to traverse through grief, how to preserve oneself, and how to move forward. Every psychologist should know how to assist someone in sorrow to overcome this pain.

Therefore, the International Forum “Grief Therapy: War and Psychological Recovery of Ukraine” is for every psychologist in Ukraine without exception. Because every minute, we must be ready to provide assistance, offer support, and fight for the future of Ukraine on our psychological front.

What Participants Will Gain from the Forum?

  • Fundamental knowledge underpinning modern grief therapy practices.
  • New methodologies and their specific applications in real therapy.
  • Exchange of experiences and professional discussions with colleagues-practitioners from Ukraine and abroad.
  • Exclusive workshops, presentations, and lectures from leading experts in the field of grief and profound loss.

How This Will Be Beneficial in the Future

The International Forum “Grief Therapy: War and Psychological Recovery of Ukraine” is one link in a series of steps that will ultimately lead to the standardization of practices in the field of grief and bereavement.

This is exceptionally important for every practicing psychologist because standardizing this field of work will provide a better understanding of how to work with individuals experiencing loss. It will define which techniques and tools to use and how to better comprehend what happens to someone in mourning at each stage of the grieving process.

Within the framework of this key direction in our activities at the Forum, important discussions and debates regarding standardization in the domain of grief and loss will take place. Furthermore, the integration of the “Grief Therapy” approach into educational programs will be addressed.

Concrete recommendations, techniques, and methods for working with grief and profound loss, grounded in scientific research and expert practical experience, will serve as valuable and exceedingly beneficial theoretical groundwork. These will subsequently be applied in real therapy, significantly expanding your toolkit when working with the topics of grief and loss.
